RACV Free2go program

As our family celebrate our son's 18th birthday this weekend, I thought others would be interested in this free service from RACV.

RACV free2go is a motoring assistance program for 18 to 20 year olds and Year 12 students.  If you're not from Victoria, just google free2go and your State to find a program for your area.  Read on to find out what this excellent program offers.

There are 3 components to the program:

1.  Emergengy roadside assistance.

If you are 18 years old or in Year 12:

• One year of 24hr emergency roadside assistance - Australia-wide - for free* conditions & limits apply.  This includes up to 20km towing in metro areas and a taxi to the value of $50 to get you to your destination.  RACV Roadside Care will also include personal cover for free2go members.  This means, whether you're the driver or passenger in the car that breaks down, you can call RACV for assistance

• access to emergency roadside assistance for a nominated vehicle for a 2nd & 3rd year at half the normal price of their Roadside Care Service

If you are 19 years old:

• access to two years of emergency roadside assistance for a nominated vehicle at half the normal price

If you are 20 year old:

• access to one year of emergency roadside assistance for a nominated vehicle at half the normal price

2.  Free motoring information and advice on getting a licence and buying a car.

• tips on obtaining a learners permit and probationary licence including an interactive road rules quiz on the free2go website
• motoring information and advice
• technical advice and information when buying a car
• useful tools and guidelines for car maintenance
• free car buyers' guide (available at RACV shops)

3.  Access to a range of discounts and special benefits.

• great savings and special offers at a wide range of stores when you show your free2go card and discount voucher - from clothing to motoring, entertainment to food.
• access to RACV's Show Your Card & Save member benefits program
• RACV Drive School lessons at discounted rates
• RACV Vehicle Inspections at discounted rates

• special accommodation rates at selected properties throughout Australia

• access to on-line maps, and advice and discounts on driving holidays.
